ABOUT NEFAG – FOREST KITCHEN
NEFAG Nagykunsági Erdészeti és Faipari Zrt. (Forestry and Nagykunság Ltd.) has a history spanning 95 years since its establishment, serving as a wholly state-owned forestry shareholder group. The company manages state-owned forests through indefinite trust management contracts, ensuring the conditions for long-term sustainable forestry, including the proper management of forest products such as truffles. NEFAG oversees oak forests in the Jaszsag region with carbonate and alkaline soils, serving as the primary truffle-producing area and potentially the optimal harvesting grounds for Central European summer truffles.
In accordance with regulations, only certified collectors are authorized to conduct truffle harvesting, and they can only take away truffles accompanied by an original certificate of origin filled out by NEFAG representatives. The company has its own truffle collection and distribution department, ensuring the most careful and appropriate harvesting processes, deemed the best practices from both professional and environmental protection perspectives while providing truffles to users.
Forest Kitchen utilizes carefully selected truffles to craft its products. The aim is to bring these products to every dining table, showcasing the values of Forest Kitchen and the unique flavors of truffles.
